AIZA Seguerra is a mainstay in “Be Careful with My Heart” playing the
role of Jodi Sta. Maria’s lesbian sister who had a child after one
drunken night with Tom Rodriguez. When the show was re-scheduled by
ABS-CBN to be a direct competitor of GMA7’s “Eat Bulaga,” Aiza decided
to resign from “Be Careful” even if she enjoys being a part of it.
“Respeto
na lang sa ‘Eat Bulaga’ kasi diyan ako nagsimula sa Little Miss
Philippines hanggang maging regular ako sa show noong kabataan ko,” she
says. “Diyan ako lumaki at malaki ang utang na loob ko kina Bossing Vic
Sotto na isinama pa ako sa ‘Okay Ka Fairy Ko’ on at later sa mga
pelikula niya. Walang Aiza ngayon kung hindi dahil sa ‘Eat Bulaga’. I’m
glad na naiintindihan naman ng ABS ang reason sa pagre-resign ko.”
Aiza
is still busy with her singing career. After her hit performance as the
genie in “Aladdin”, she’ll next be seen in the repeat of the hit
musical from Atlantis Productions, “Rock of Ages,” with Migs Ayesa.
SARAH NEVER BEEN BUSIER AFTER QUITTING SHOW
SARAH
Geronimo says she completely trusts the decision of her manager, Boss
Vic del Rosario, of Viva in replacing her musical variety show “Sarah G.
Live” with a drama anthology where she’ll get to play different
characters.
“Bago pa raw magsawa ang mga tao, we should quit
while still on top,” she says. “Ang aim naman ng drama anthology is to
show that I’m not just good in
singing but also in acting. This will be 13 episodes of mostly light
drama, to be directed by Wenn Deramas na kilala sa movies for his hit
comedies at sa TV for his drama shows.”
Sarah will be paired
with the top ABS leading men like Coco Martin, Sam Milby, Piolo Pascual
and Paulo Avelino. We just don’t know if she’d agree to still be paired
with her exes, Rayver Cruz and
Gerald Anderson. Sarah has also just returned from New York City where
she shot some scenes of her third film with John Lloyd Cruz, “It Takes a
Man and a Woman.” While waiting for the drama show to start taping, she’ll also be one of the judges in “The Voice Philippines.
She’s
also busy endorsing the senatorial bid of Quezon Rep. Sonny Angara.
Sarah says she’s supporting Sonny because of his advocacy to give better
education for our people. “Even his dad, Sen. Ed Angara, sinuportahan
ko rin noon dahil sa edukasyon,” she says. “I really admire the
legislations na ginawa ni Congressman Angara like the Universal
Kindergarten Education Act (RA 10157) giving kindergarten education to
Filipino kids and the Salary Standardization Law 111 that raised the pay
of public school teacher and government workers. Now, he’s pushing for
education-related reforms like the Early Years Act (HB 6694) aiming to
strengthen the National Early Childhood Care and Development Program and Special Education Act (HB6547) that will create Special Education Centers for gifted and special kids. Lahat ito, talaga namang dapat lang suportahan.”
FANS DON'T CALL DEREK BY NAME ANYMORE
DEREK
Ramsay says he knows “Kidlat” is rating well because everywhere he
goes, people no longer call him Derek but Kidlat. “Nagulat ako kasi even
in a remote area in Palawan, the kids call me Kidlat,” he says.
“Kidlat”
becomes more exciting with the introduction of new villains that will
make Derek’s life more action-filled, along with Wendell Ramos as Graba
Man and Baron Geisler as Vincent Megaton. The first ones are the twins,
Frosta and Fuego, played by Artista Academy discoveries Shaira Mae
representing Ice and Mark Neumann representing Fire. They have the power
to turn people and surroundings into ice or set them on fire.
“I
feel so lucky na for our first regular show, nasama kami sa isang hit
action-fantasy like ‘Kidlat’ na marami talagang nanonood,” says Shaira.
“And
we’re so glad kasi ang bait-bait sa amin ni Kuya Derek kahit kaaway
niya kami in the story,” adds Mark. “He even acts as our mentor.”
Another
new opponent is Paolo Ballesteros in drag as Warla. He looks every inch
a woman but he has unusual strength he got from a magic stone. Still
another new adversary is Enigma, played by
Valerie Weigman.
She’s a fashion designer who has telekinetic powers and knows dark
magic. “Kidlat” is seen on TV5 weekdays at 6:45 p.m.
CESAR WANTS TO KEEP FAMILY,
SUNSHINE HAS OTHER PLANS
CESAR
Montano implored the writers interviewing him at the “Alfredo S. Lim,
The Untold Story” presscon not to add more fuel into the fire of his
reported marital woes with wife Sunshine Cruz: “I admit that our
marriage is not perfect. Just like other marriages, we have problems of
our own, but inaayos namin ito, so pakiusap ko lang, sana ’wag nyo nang
palakihin pa. Ibalato nyo na lang sa’kin as we’re in the process of
ironing out everything. I love Sunshine and I’ll do everything to keep
our family. So sana, maintindihan nyo at pagbigyan nyo ako sa hiling
kong ito. Alam ko namang maaayos din ito dahil nothing is impossible with God. So sana, mag-focus na lang tayo sa movie that opens in theaters on February 27.”
But
Sunshine herself won’t keep silent with her instagram posts, saying:
“Never confuse fiction with non-fiction, the difference between the
truth and a lie. I’m so blessed to have four teleserye offers. God is
faithful. It would be selfish of me to complain or mourn.”
Maybe
Cesar should talk to Sunshine first to stop using social media to
broadcast what’s happening in their lives. Sunshine is listed as
co-executive producer of “Alfredo S. Lim,” along with Cesar. Does she
resent the inclusion of the name of Cesar’s alleged kulukudidang in the
poster as “Introducing Krista Miller?”
